The Haiti Emergency Spendinga Allocation Requests (HESARs) were approved by FOMIN’s Donors Committee on January 22nd 2010 as a US$3 million line to help its partners and executing agencies in Haiti to resume operations and provide access to economic opportunity in the country over a period of 12 months after the emergency.

The scope of the damage demanded an expedited, coordinated and transparent response from the donor community. FOMIN, as the largest technical assistance provider in Latin America and the Caribbean, was set to give the example. In Haiti since 1995, FOMIN has approved projects in the amount of US$21 million, mobilized as counterpart funding an additional US$10 million and worked with over 40 partners and executing agencies. It response to the earthquake, FOMIN has developed an agenda to assess the needs of its partners in Haiti and the most effective way to start allocating emergency resources.
